Why Atlas exists

Insurance should not be the slowest thing you buy.

Commercial insurance is one of the larger line items a growing technology company buys, and one of the least understood. It is also the one where the buying experience has changed least: long application forms, week-long email threads, a certificate request that holds up a signature for four days, and a renewal quote that arrives forty-eight hours before expiry.

None of that is inevitable. It persists because brokerage revenue is a percentage of premium, so growing has always meant hiring more people to do more manual work — and nobody had a reason to make the work disappear.

We built Atlas the other way around. We invested in the operating side of the business so that the parts which are structured and repeatable — collecting exposure data, preparing applications, assembling submissions, comparing forms, issuing certificates, preparing renewals — take a fraction of the time they take elsewhere.

The point of that is not efficiency for its own sake. It is that the time it frees goes back into the part that was always the actual job: judgment about what you need, negotiation with underwriters, reading what the form really says, and advocacy when a claim goes sideways.

What a client experiences is simply this — answers the same day, terms in days rather than weeks, coverage compared on substance, and a broker who is prepared before you have to chase.

How we operate

Six commitments we'll be held to.

Operating rules, not values statements. If we break one, tell us.

01

Answer the same day

Enquiries get a written response from a broker within the business day. Not an acknowledgement — an answer, or a clear statement of what we need in order to give you one.

02

Read the form, not just the price

We compare coverage language across the options we bring you. When one is cheaper for a reason, we tell you the reason at binding, while you can still act on it.

03

Recommend less when less is right

The easiest way to make more money in this business is to sell coverage nobody needs. We would rather tell an early-stage company to buy workers' compensation and nothing else, and still be their broker at Series C.

04

Specialise deliberately

We work with technology companies. That focus is what lets a small team know more about your risk than a generalist brokerage many times our size.

05

Show the work

You see the timeline, which markets were approached, what came back, and how we are compensated. Nothing about a placement should be opaque to the person paying for it.

06

Prepare early

Renewal work begins ninety days out with refreshed exposure data and a market strategy. A renewal that arrives the week before expiry has already lost you the leverage.

The firm

Independent, focused, and easy to reach.

Independent means we are not owned by an insurance carrier and are not obliged to place your business anywhere in particular. We approach the markets that suit your risk and show you what each one came back with.

We are deliberately narrow. Technology companies only — which is how a small team ends up knowing more about your exposure than a generalist brokerage many times the size.

Where we stand

A broker's job is to know what your policy actually says — and to tell you before you need it, not after.

We compare coverage language, not only premium. We say so when a cheaper option is cheaper for a reason. And we put the exclusions in front of you at binding, because that is the moment you can still do something about them.

Work with Atlas

If this is how you'd want your insurance handled, let's talk.

Tell us about the business once. A broker reviews it the same day and comes back with a plan, a timeline and what we need to take it to market.
